Baked Honey Garlic Salmon

  • Author: angela_woods
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A quick and easy 20-minute weeknight dinner featuring moist, flaky salmon fillets coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic glaze. This healthy, crowd-pleasing meal is perfect for busy families and requires minimal prep and cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 34 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels to ensure the glaze sticks and caramelizes properly. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them out evenly.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, melted butter, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes until smooth and glossy.
  4. Brush half of the glaze over the salmon fillets. Reserve the remaining glaze for later.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time may vary based on fillet thickness.
  6. Remove the pan from the oven and brush the remaining glaze over the hot salmon.
  7. Optional: Broil for 1-2 minutes to caramelize the top, watching closely to prevent burning.
  8. Let the salmon rest for 2 minutes to allow juices to redistribute. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately.

Notes

[‘Patting the salmon dry is crucial for caramelization; wet fish will steam instead of bake.’, ‘Use fresh garlic for the best flavor; pre-minced jars lack the necessary punch.’, ‘Set a timer when broiling as sugar burns quickly.’, ‘For even cooking, use fillets of similar thickness.’, ‘Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the microwave on low power.’]
