Description
A creamy, thick protein shake that tastes like banana bread, combining frozen bananas, oats, almond butter, and vanilla protein powder for a quick, nutritious, and comforting morning meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large ripe banana (frozen)
- 1 scoop (approx. 30g) vanilla protein powder
- 2 tablespoons old-fashioned oats
- 1 tablespoon almond butter
- 1 cup milk (dairy, almond, or oat)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Ice cubes (optional, if banana is not frozen)
Instructions
- Peel the ripe banana, break it into chunks, and freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Add the frozen banana chunks, oats, protein powder, almond butter, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and milk to a blender.
- Blend on low speed to break up ingredients, then increase to high speed and blend for 45-60 seconds until smooth and creamy.
- Check consistency; if too thick, add a splash more milk. If oat chunks remain, blend for another 15 seconds.
- Pour into a tall glass and serve immediately, optionally garnished with cinnamon or a banana slice.
Notes
For the best texture, use frozen bananas. If using fresh bananas, add ice cubes. Ensure almond butter is smooth to avoid chunks. Rinse blender immediately after use. This shake is best consumed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
