Chamomile Banana Smoothie

  • Author: angela_woods
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A creamy, relaxing bedtime smoothie that combines the natural sweetness of ripe bananas with soothing chamomile flowers to help you wind down without caffeine.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup milk of choice (oat, almond, or dairy)
  • 1–2 tablespoons dried chamomile flowers
  • 1 large ripe banana, peeled and frozen
  • 1 tablespoon plain yogurt (Greek or coconut)
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • Ice cubes (if bananas are not frozen)

Instructions

  1. Heat the milk until just simmering, remove from heat, and stir in the dried chamomile flowers. Cover and steep for 5-10 minutes, then let cool to room temperature.
  2. Peel the banana, break into chunks, and freeze for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  3. Combine the cooled chamomile milk, frozen banana chunks, yogurt, and optional sweetener in a blender.
  4. Blend on high speed for 30-60 seconds until completely smooth. Add more milk if too thick or ice if too thin.
  5. Pour into a glass and serve immediately.

Notes

For the best texture, use frozen bananas. If you prefer a stronger chamomile flavor, steep the flowers longer, but avoid over-steeping to prevent bitterness. The infused milk can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days for quick prep.
