Description
A stress-free, slow-cooked pork tenderloin recipe that combines ranch seasoning, au jus gravy mix, and pepperoncini peppers for a tangy, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth meal.
Ingredients
- 2 pork tenderloins (1 to 1.5 pounds each)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (sliced into pats)
- 1 packet (1 ounce) dry ranch dressing mix
- 1 packet (1 ounce) dry au jus gravy mix
- 1 small jar (6–8 peppers) pepperoncini peppers with juice
Instructions
- Pat pork tenderloins dry with paper towels and trim off any silver skin.
- Place the tenderloins directly into the bottom of a 4 to 6-quart slow cooker.
- Sprinkle the entire contents of the ranch dressing mix packet evenly over the pork.
- Sprinkle the au jus gravy mix packet evenly over the pork.
- Slice pepperoncini peppers into rings or leave whole, then scatter them over the pork.
- Lay the sliced butter pats over the top of the seasoned pork.
- Pour about half of the pepperoncini juice over everything (reserve the rest for milder flavor).
- Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 6 to 7 hours (or HIGH for 3 to 4 hours).
- Check for doneness: pork should reach 145°F for medium or 160°F for shredding, and pull apart easily with a fork.
- Shred the meat directly in the pot using two forks, mixing it with the melted butter and juices.
- Serve immediately with the sauce spooned over the top.
Notes
Do not overcrowd the slow cooker. If using a 6-quart pot, ensure tenderloins are close together. Do not add extra liquid like chicken broth as the butter and pepperoncini juice provide enough moisture. For a thicker sauce, mix 1 tsp cornstarch with 2 tsp cold water and stir in during the last 30 minutes. Pork loin can be substituted but may require longer cooking time and is prone to drying out.
