Description
A juicy grilled chicken burger infused with classic Caesar salad flavors, combining ground chicken, parmesan, and romaine lettuce for a quick, sophisticated weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground chicken (mix of dark and white meat preferred)
- 3 tablespoons Caesar dressing (for mixture)
- 1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons panko or regular breadcrumbs (optional)
- 1 head romaine lettuce, chopped into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons Caesar dressing (for drizzling)
- 4 brioche buns or potato rolls
- Extra shaved parmesan for topping
- Olive oil (for brushing buns and oiling grill)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, 3 tablespoons Caesar dressing, grated parmesan, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper. Mix gently with hands until evenly distributed; do not overmix.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties about 3/4 inch thick. Make a small indent in the center of each patty with your thumb.
- Place patties on a plate and refrigerate for 10 minutes to help them hold their shape.
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat (around 400°F/200°C) or heat a grill pan over medium-high. Lightly oil the grates.
- Grill patties for 5-6 minutes on the first side without moving to allow char to form. Flip and cook for another 5-6 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- During the last minute of grilling, toast buns cut-side down on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- While chicken cooks, chop romaine lettuce and toss with a little olive oil and a pinch of salt.
- Assemble burgers by spreading extra Caesar dressing on the bottom bun, placing the cooked patty on top, piling dressed romaine high, drizzling with more dressing, and sprinkling with extra parmesan. Add the top bun.
- Serve immediately while hot.
Notes
Chill patties before grilling to prevent sticking and help them hold shape. Do not press down on patties while cooking to retain juices. For gluten-free, swap breadcrumbs for almond flour and use gluten-free buns. For dairy-free, use vegan Caesar dressing and nutritional yeast. Store components separately; do not store assembled burgers as buns will get soggy.
