Description
A refreshing, homemade mocktail that combines fresh strawberry puree with creamy soda water. This drink offers a sophisticated, fizzy, and sweet experience perfect for hot days or entertaining guests.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled
- 1 tablespoon sugar or simple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream or half-and-half
- Sparkling water or club soda, chilled
- Ice cubes
- Fresh strawberry slice or mint sprig for garnish
Instructions
- Wash and hull the strawberries. If large, chop them in half and place in a blender.
- Add sugar and lemon juice to the blender. Blend on high speed for 30 seconds until smooth. Strain if desired for a smoother texture.
- Chill two tall glasses in the freezer for 5 minutes.
- Fill the chilled glasses with ice cubes.
- Add 2 tablespoons of strawberry puree to each glass and swirl slightly against the walls for a marbled effect.
- Pour 2 tablespoons of heavy cream or half-and-half over the ice in each glass.
- Slowly pour chilled sparkling water into the glass down the side to preserve bubbles.
- Gently stir once or twice with a long spoon to combine flavors without losing carbonation.
- Garnish with a fresh strawberry slice or mint sprig and serve immediately.
Notes
Ensure all ingredients are cold to maintain carbonation. Do not over-stir to prevent losing fizz. The puree can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 4 days. For a dairy-free version, substitute heavy cream with coconut cream.
